About the Triple Play League
The Triple Play League is a long-running, 16-team head-to-head most categories (H2H) fantasy baseball league.
This site is a historical archive of regular-season and playoff results, plus derived records, from 2013 onward.
League Format
- Format: Head-to-Head (H2H) Most Categories
- Teams: 16, divided into four divisions (East, South, Central, West)
- Matchups: Weekly, recorded as Win / Loss / Tie
- Playoffs: 8 teams (4 division winners + 4 wild cards), 3 rounds
Scoring Categories
Standard scoring uses 12 categories:
- Hitting: R, HR, RBI, SB, AVG, OPS
- Pitching: K, QS, W, SV, ERA, WHIP
Category History
- 2013: OPS was not
- 2014 onward: The full 12-category set listed above has been used.
Innings Requirement
League rules require a minimum of 35 innings pitched (IP) in a week for ERA and WHIP to count in live scoring.
Historical exports do not include innings pitched, so this archive:
- Includes all recorded ERA and WHIP values in analytics.
- Does not attempt to retroactively enforce the 35 IP minimum.
- Relies on the natural effect that short-innings weeks rarely produce record-level dominance.
Special Seasons
2020
The 2020 MLB season was shortened, and the fantasy schedule followed with fewer regular-season matchups and only two playoff rounds. All standings and records here reflect that shortened structure.
Consolation Games
In most seasons, all teams play in consolation rounds after elimination. For historical purposes, this archive:
- Excludes non-meaningful consolation games from playoff records and brackets.
- Includes a 3rd-place game if it appears as an official playoff matchup with a recorded W/L result.
Data Notes
- Team IDs (T01, T03, etc.) are stable IDs even when team names or owners change.
- Opponent names in matchups are based on the team name used in that season.
- Dominance-based metrics use percentile-based scoring across all available weeks.
